Why Creators Deserve Better
Over the years, my own series has reached nearly a hundred million views. Not the biggest out there, but enough to understand what it takes to build something from nothing… and what it feels like when that momentum disappears.
Because yes… I’ve used the big platforms.
For years.
And like many creators, I believed in what they said they were building.
A place for creators.
A place for discovery.
A place where anyone could grow.
That’s not what they became.
What started as creator-driven ecosystems slowly shifted into something else entirely. Today, most of these platforms are no longer built for independent creators… they’re built for their own studios.
And once that shift happened, everything changed.
Discovery didn’t disappear overnight.
It just became… selective.
If you’re not part of their internal system, their exclusivity deals, or their curated content pipeline, you’re no longer competing on equal ground.
You’re filling space.
You’re not building an audience.
You’re feeding a system that was never designed to grow you.
That’s the reality many creators eventually run into.
Yes, these platforms have millions of daily users.
But reach doesn’t matter if you can’t access it.
If your work isn’t being surfaced…
If your updates aren’t being shown…
If your audience can’t even find you…
Then what exactly are you building there?
For many creators, the answer becomes frustratingly clear.
You’re building for them, not for yourself.
And that’s where the disconnect happens.
Because creators aren’t just content providers.
We’re storytellers. We’re builders. We’re the reason these platforms exist in the first place.
And yet, over time, we’ve been pushed further and further into the background.
That’s not something I was willing to accept.
Fables exists because of that reality.
Not as an alternative.
As a correction.
We’re not trying to replicate what those platforms became.
We’re trying to fix what they broke.
At Fables, creators are not competing against an internal studio.
They’re not fighting algorithms designed to prioritize owned content.
They’re not relying on promises that change once the platform grows.
We are still growing.
We don’t pretend to have millions of users… yet.
But what we do have is something far more important:
Real visibility.
Real support.
Real involvement.
We actively promote our creators. We feature their work. We build tools based on their feedback. We help them grow, regardless of their size.
You don’t need to be “chosen” to matter here.
You already do.
Because the goal was never to control creators.
It was to empower them.
That’s why we built Fables the way we did.
And that’s why more creators are starting to take a second look.
Because at the end of the day…
This isn’t just about views.
Creators didn't build this industry to become invisible inside it.
It’s about ownership.
It’s about fairness.
And more than anything…
It’s about respect.
