Fables Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 23rd, 2024

At Fables, we believe that everyone’s privacy matters. We’ve undertaken these procedures to ensure your personal data stays safe while you enjoy the vast amount of content and features our platform has to offer. This Privacy Policy is here to explain what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it secure. By using Fables, you’re agreeing to these terms—so let’s get into it!

1. What We Collect

When you sign up for Fables, we ask for a few key things to get you started:

• Email address

• Your name

• Your date of birth

We only collect this info from users who create an account. All data is collected through forms right here on the platform, nothing sneaky. No account? No worries—we won’t be asking for anything. However, the website/platform will restrict access to certain features and content available on Fables until you create an account.

2. How We Use Your Info

Here’s how we put your information to good use:

• Account Creation: This one’s obvious—we need your details to set up and manage your Fables account.

• Content Publishing & Interaction: We use your information so you can publish your webcomics, leave comments, and share the content you love since every account can consume content as much as they want, and they can produce it if they so choose.

• Monetization Program: As a Creator who participates in this program, we will use your data and gather additional information to provide payment, such as your PayPal information and location, to determine if certain taxes apply.

• Keeping You Updated: From time to time, we might drop some news your way. Don’t worry; it’s only for the important stuff that matters to users like you—platform updates, new features, or special announcements are what we communicate. We do not use your data to spam or sell you anything. However, we may send out a birthday shout-out to you because, hey, you’re part of the family!

• Platform Improvements: We use data to analyze how folks are using Fables so we can keep making it better.

And just so you know, we don’t sell your data. Ever.

3. Sharing Your Info

We keep your information to ourselves, but there are a couple of exceptions:

• Parent Companies: Sometimes we’ll share data with Fables’ parent companies for analytical purposes only.

• Legal Requirements: If the law calls, we have to answer. If required, we’ll share your info with government officials if mandated by law or the courts. If the request isn’t supported by law or the courts we will refuse to comply.

But that’s it—no third-party advertisers, no random companies. The data that we collect stays with us.

4. Cookies and Tracking

Yup, we use cookies, and not always the yummy kind. Here’s why:

• Session Management: Cookies help keep you logged in and make sure your session runs smoothly.

• Preferences: We use cookies to remember things like your preferences and settings.

We also use third-party cookies for ad networks and analytics to help us improve the platform. Currently, there’s no way to opt-out of these cookies.

5. Your Rights

You’re in control of your information, and here’s what you can do:

• Access & Update: You can access and update your info in the User Settings section of your account any time you want. However, your date of birth cannot be changed unless approved by a site administrator to prevent minors from accessing mature content.

• Request Your Data: Want to know what we’ve collected? You can request a copy of your data by emailing us at info(at)fables(dot)pro.

• Opt-Out of Emails: There are certain bits of legal information that we must be able to share with our users. Although these changes and notices are extremely rare, they have to happen occasionally, so you can't opt out of them. Still, if our marketing emails start to feel a bit much, you can opt out through your settings. But we'd hate for you to miss out on important Fables news, but you certainly can.

• Delete Your Account: If you decide to leave us (sad face), you can delete your account anytime, which will also delete your personal data.

6. How We Protect Your Info

We take your data security seriously, and here’s how we protect it:

• Secure Servers: We use secure database servers to store your information.

• Encryption: All traffic between you and Fables is encrypted, so your data stays safe.

But remember, no system is 100% secure, so we can’t make any absolute guarantees.

7. Third-Party Services

Regarding payments through our monetization program, we’ve partnered with PayPal. If you’re part of our monetization program, you’ll need a PayPal account to receive payments. We only share your email address with PayPal to identify your account. No other data is shared with them other than the invoice we process.

8. Data Transfers

We don’t transfer your data internationally unless a court order or law requires it. If it ever happens, we’ll use a secure contract with the receiving party to protect your data during the transfer.

9. Kids and Privacy

Fables isn't suitable for kids under 13. If you're under 13, sorry—you can't use our platform, and we kindly ask you to leave. If you're between 13 and 18, have your parental consent before using Fables. We do not collect parental consent. We do our best to moderate the content published on our platform, but what is suitable for some may not be right for others. Therefore, parents should be aware of the type of content their children may be exposed to before granting them consent.

No one, under any circumstances may have access to FablesX under the age of 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we’ll make sure to let you know. We’ll post a notice on the homepage, and/or, in an urgent situation, we may email you the details or warning. In some rare cases, we may ask you to accept the new terms before continuing to use the platform.

11. Need Help? Contact Us

Got questions or concerns about your privacy? No problem! You can reach us by creating a support ticket or emailing us directly at info(at)fables(dot)pro. We’re always here to help.
