Welcome to Fables, a comic publishing platform by creators for creators!
Like you, we are fanatics of comics and believe it to be an excellent form of storytelling. As a matter of fact, we have been publishing comics online for the last fifteen years. It sure has been a long time, but it has been a blast, and it continues to be just as much fun today as when we first started. Through our experience, we have experimented with many different ways to reach a new audience and keep updating our content in a consistent yet simple way.
We tried it all. We launched our own websites, published using social media, and utilized other publishing platforms. Needless to say, each format has its advantages and disadvantages, as you are well aware. Still, when it comes to reaching a larger audience, the platform is the easiest and cheapest way available for us Indie Creators.
Unfortunately, we have been burnt by broken promises regarding publishing platforms. Like you, we were part of the successes of large publishing platforms that promoted our work to their users in exchange for our content. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement for sure!
Then, almost like clockwork, when these platforms reached a certain number of users, many changed their business model based on pay-for-access, focusing on large titles from publishing companies and promoting their own in-house creations. This situation meant that our work was shoved to the back, making it extremely difficult to gain new followers.
We were frustrated. We were disappointed. We felt used, but what other option did we have?
As indie creators, we deserve a better answer for publishing, so we have decided to pool our resources and devise a solution that works best for us. We have operated Topwebcomics for decades. We built and improved this marketing platform for webcomics to help creators connect with new readers. For years, we focused on making it easier for creators to achieve their goals, and so, we have gathered what we learned to form our vision for Fables.
We're imperfect, but we listen, adapt, and do our best for the greater good.
It is these principles and morals that we bring to Fables.
We have designed a platform with the tools we need as creators to succeed. We focus much of our time switching from one site to the next, with the sole mission of meeting our goals, hence why it is our objective to become the best one-stop-shop option for webcomic creators.
Still, what works for one may only work for some. For this reason, we have launched our Discord Server to gather your thoughts, suggestions, and opinions on everything we do. Fables started as the tool we needed the most, but it has grown into much more. There is much room for improvement, as we need it to offer the tools we all deserve to have.
At Fables, we solemnly swear:
o We do not take any copyrights or ownership from any of your work;
o All content uploaded to Fables is done so with the consent of the creator;
o We do not cater to exclusivity deals that would benefit some more than others;
o We will continue to operate with as much transparency as we can.
As creators, we are not competing with one another. We are peers. We are a group of people that share a passion, a dream, a hunger to tell stories. We're not enemies; we are on this journey together, and we would much prefer to go at it side by side with like-minded individuals like yourself than to go at it alone.
We are going to do our part. We will take all your suggestions and build the best platform we can come up with so you can do your job and share the best story you can create!
