I kind of want to know what Azrael's Imaginary Friend is saying in this conversation, or if they're just listening to the monologue. Also, another mention of Janus! Did Janus dump Azrael on Arthur because he was too annoying and lacking any sense of subtilty, rather than because Azrael kept on losing to Wiglaf? We may never know.

That said, it is surprising that Azrael was given a solo scouting mission. It's not like we've been introduced to any subordinates Azrael has that could have done the mission more to Arthur's preferences, after all.
