So, I went back and forth a lot on including Officer Flint Hardt, due to the current conversation in the US regarding the role of police.
The one thing I want to be clear about is that this is not intended as "cop-aganda." Flint is an outlier in his department for taking a nuanced, culturally aware lens to his policing... and will be depicted as such. He'll be playing the comedic foil to others' wacky antics, with his own sensitivity as an occasional punchline.
My excuse / justification for this is that, while we don't want to glorify bad (non-evidence-based, gut-feeling-is-always-right, rogue-cops-'get-shit-done') policing, we should be able to depict what we're looking for in a public peace-keeping organization. Flint is my attempt to do that.
