The reasons for this will be explained in a future scene, but lack of attachment from those without magic is one of the core "rules" that was driven into Jade from childhood. It doesn't make it any less painful, though. Whatever it is that happened last night, and whatever caused that instant chemistry between them, made this separation especially hard. Did Jade fall in love? We may never know.
