Caramel or Cara as she's often called is Maple's mother, and a former Geist Hunter, she was there at the final battle with the Fox where she nearly died. Sometime between those events and the present day a rift formed between her and her father causing her to leave the world of geist hunters behind, protecting Maple from that world as best she could. She now works as a successful software engineer and has done her best to provide a happy life for her family. She is also FIERCELY protective of her kids to the point of becoming a demon in their defense.
